Encounters: recent ceramics

March 20 – April 13, 2008

Hanna says this about her work, “The work shown represents my recent effort to trace the configuration of Space. I start with two slabs of clay and place them in relation to each other. This leads to endless variations of tensions and resolutions in their encounter. Points have no dimension, lines are literally one-dimensional, create no space, are no/where rather than now/here; space only emerges through their interactions. Although the pieces are no larger than approximately 50 X 50 cm. they can also be imaged and imagined as monuments. My new work addresses encounters within and between us which call for new forms of expression.”
